We live in a time where we are in desperate need of skilled people who can be employed or who can be trusted with funding to create enterprises. Certification shouldn’t be a huge barrier as it is. We need to find better quality and faster ways to certify people so that we can tackle economic issues and allow everyone to participate in economics.
The issue about certification needs to be addressed through addressing what education is, and what one needs to know for one to be seen as “educated” in a certain field. We have people who are highly educated but do not have the means to focus on school for three years or more. We need to be able to certify these people faster if they can be able to prove that they are “educated” according to a standard which can allow them to be employed or funded to start enterprises.
The issue here is the ability to create trust concerning education. And right now people only trust that other people are “educated” through certification. It is a rare instance where people are afforded the ability to engage in conversation, internships or other programs which can afford them benefit of the doubt about where they are in terms of education without them being certified.
One of the disadvantages of “certified education” is that it becomes outdated and eventually obsolete. Education is continuous learning and engagement. No certification can prove that an application developer will still be qualified, current and relevant after 3 three years if they do not engage or continue learning; because the industry evolves rapidly. The same scenario applies to other fields as well.
All we need to establish is, can people think critically about issues in their fields and can they solve problems at the required standard or above. Employers, funders, investors and even individuals who are capable of creating; need to stop depending on educational institutions. They need to critically engage prospects themselves, because through this line of thinking we will be able to rapidly evolve the economic status of continents such as Africa, South America and many other parts of the world.
There are better and faster ways of creating trust, and certification is the lazy way. As more and more certified people prove to be incompetent because all they did was to cram the theory, While they never engaged practically.
An educated person is a person who can successfully solve problems and use their talents to improve the lives of everyone around them including themselves… educated has nothing to do with certification.

We only get certified to play the game, why not break the rules?
